Tuning into Opera

26 September, 2025
Greater Manchester

Between now and 2027, English National Opera are working with The University of Manchester on Tuning into Opera, carrying out research and consultation with local audiences and communities to explore what it means to have an opera company based in the city-region.

The themes and insights explored in these conversations will be shared publicly through a series of Tuning into Opera events, held three times per year. The first event, presenting the objectives of the project and kicking off the conversation, took place at Manchester International Festival on 15 July 2025.

As part of the research, ENO are keen to understand how opera and the company can best reflect and serve the people of Greater Manchester. ENO and The University of Manchester would be very grateful if you could take the time to complete this survey and share it within your network. The data will be used over the coming months as ENO meets and connects with people across the city-region.

The survey closes on Wednesday 1st October. Everyone who completes the survey can enter a free prize draw to win two tickets for ENO’s production of Albert Herring at The Lowry in October 2025. To enter the draw, please email tuningintoopera@eno.org with your name and contact details.
