Rochdale
The first session of the Off-Centre Artist Development Series took place on 22nd October at The Empire, in Rochdale town centre, attracting over 100 attendees.
Arranged by Karen Boardman in partnership with the Greater Manchester Music Commission, the launch event featured an in-depth conversation between Damian Morgan of the Commission and Jez and Andy Williams from the band Doves, exploring the theme of Collaboration and Songwriting.
This new monthly series will support local musicians and industry professionals by providing opportunities to learn from leading artists and share creative experiences. Together, these initiatives celebrate Rochdale’s heritage and home-grown talent, helping to nurture the next generation of musicians. They reinforce Rochdale’s position at the heart of Greater Manchester’s thriving music scene and strengthen pride of place by connecting the borough’s storied past with its exciting cultural future.
