Rochdale
As part of the Common Walls International Mural Festival, the Work Placement Coordinator, Tina Hogarth, supported five Rochdale residents from diverse age groups to access a work placement opportunity at the festival. The residents were coordinated by Lisa from Place DNA, and the placements saw the volunteers support several mural artists, whilst engaging with the public and providing them with key information of the festival.
The Common Walls International Mural Festival which is run by Hayley Garner ‘Aylo Nomad’, not only brought vibrant creativity to the streets but it also allowed the five local residents on placement to build their knowledge and skills within the creative industries. The five residents are now working behind the scenes collectively on their own mural, which will be permanently displayed at Rochdale Train Station, serving as a lasting symbol of community collaboration.
