Luke Saxon Photography

Luke Saxon is a visual artist and photographer based in Greater Manchester, working across collage, photography and mixed media. 

His practice explores found imagery, physical materials and experimental approaches to image making, often combining photography with collage and alternative processes. His work is interested in the relationship between found and created images, and how familiar materials can be transformed into something unexpected. 

Alongside his studio practice, Luke delivers creative workshops designed to introduce people to different ways of working with images. Workshops can include an introduction to collage, exploring cutting, layering, composition and found imagery, as well as introductory photography sessions looking at ways of seeing, photographing and developing ideas through images. 

The workshops are informal, practical and open to people with little or no previous experience. Participants are encouraged to experiment, make mistakes and develop their own visual ideas rather than focusing on creating a technically perfect outcome. 

Luke has delivered workshops for a range of community, educational and cultural organisations, as well as developing independent creative projects and exhibitions. Workshops can be adapted for different ages, group sizes and settings, with materials and activities tailored to each project.
