Flat Pack Music

Flat Pack Music is a North West-based performing arts charity dedicated to making opera, classical music and high-quality live performance more accessible, welcoming and relevant to everyone. 

Founded in 2017, we create professional productions, concerts, community music projects, education programmes and participatory opportunities that bring people together through music. Our work combines professional artists with local communities, giving people opportunities not only to experience outstanding live performance, but also to take part themselves. 

Our projects range from fully staged opera and orchestral performances to community choirs, workshops, work in schools and care settings, music therapy programmes and new commissions designed for families and people with additional or sensory needs. We work particularly closely with communities across Rochdale and the wider North West, developing partnerships with local organisations, schools, charities, venues and professional musicians. 

At the heart of Flat Pack Music is the belief that opera and classical music should not feel distant, exclusive or inaccessible. We aim to remove practical, financial and cultural barriers to participation, create meaningful opportunities for local people and artists, and use music as a way of strengthening communities, improving wellbeing and building lasting connections between people.
